Instituted in 1952, the St. Ignatius Loyola Medal is the highest honor awarded to a graduating senior each year by Fairfield University. The award recognizes a senior who has maximized opportunities for emotional, social, and intellectual growth throughout their undergraduate career and truly exemplifies the spirit of a Catholic, Jesuit education. The recipient will have earned and maintained high academic standards in the classroom, is a member of Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit Honors Society) and/or other academically-related honors society, and will have had a significant impact on the campus community (on or off-campus) through their sustained and consistent involvement in community service, curricular and/or co-curricular activities.

The William J. Kramer '60 Humanitarian Award recognizes one senior and is based solely on the senior’s commitment to volunteerism and service to an external or internal community activity that best exemplifies the Ignatian tradition of being men and women for others. This award is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. James J. Daly P’93, ’92, ’85 in memory of their dear friend William J. Kramer ’60, P’96, ’85, ’83, the first Fairfield University alumnus who served as Chairman of the Fairfield University Board of Trustees.

The Student Achievement Award recognizes graduating seniors who have shown exceptional dedication to, enhancement of, and/or creation of a specific Fairfield University program, activity, organization, or project which has had a significant and positive impact on the larger Fairfield University campus community.
